Personal Introduction

“The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul.”
~Robert Wyland,

"The sea is everything." It encompasses seven tenths of the Earth's surface. It has a clean, healthy breath. Man is never alone in this vast desert because he senses life stirring all around  him."-~Jules Verne

I grew up in Anson my whole life, and so did my mother. She is the hardest-working person I have ever met. She put me into all the sports and clubs I wanted. However, most of them only kept my attention for a couple months. Then, on days that she was off, she would take me to the library, and I was obsessed. I would sit and read a different story each week while she did her homework on the computer. She went back to school when I was 11, and I was entranced. I loved it. I had gone to Hogwarts with Harry and Ron, been to Camp Half Blood with Percy Jackson, and, as I got older, went to District 13 with Katniss Everdeen. Books made me feel like I was part of something bigger. And as I read about so many characters journeys, I wanted to go on my own. When I was 15, I went to the beach for two weeks with my aunt. We went everywhere. We went deep fishing, aquariums, scuba diving, parasailing, everything. And I loved every minute of it. I went back every year to see her, and every time it was harder to leave than the last. I had found a new appreciation for the ocean. I wanted to learn more about it. I wanted to see more of it. I wanted to know what made it so captivating. I wanted to know everything. And I will. I plan to be a marine biologist. To have my own adventure and learn everything I possibly can.
